General Information
Airport Operating Conditions
Owen Sound Airport is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and is capable of supporting visual flight rules (VFR), instrument flight rules (IFR) operations down to non-precision approach limits and IFR departures in visibility as low as ½ statute mile.
The airport has an Aerodrome Traffic Frequency (ATF) on 123.00 MHz. A UNICOM service is available during operational hours for known weather and traffic information.
Runway and Taxiway
The movement areas consist of one lighted runway, a joining taxiway system, and a public apron. The runway, oriented North – South, is 3932 feel long and 75 feet wide with asphalt surface.
Hours of Operation
The airport has operational staff on site 9 hours per day, 7 days per week. Normal hours of operation are 0800 to 1700 hours local time.
Terminal Building
The terminal building is open during normal operational hours. A public telephone is available in an area of the building which has 24 hour access. The terminal building provides the following services to pilots and passengers:
- Washrooms
- Meeting rooms
- Lounge
- Flight planning area
- Public computer access with internet
- Drinks and water

Transportation
Road transportation into Owen Sound is provided by local taxi or rental car services. Pilots can call the airport in advance or contact UNICOM to arrange to have a taxi waiting at arrival time. See the Links page for information on Taxi companies.
After Hours Call Out
Call-out services are available after hours for a fee.
Aircraft Parking
Asphalt and grass parking areas are available to pilots for daily use or on a monthly basis.
Aircraft Movement Surface Condition Report (AMSCR)
During the winter season, the airport management looks after snow removal and provides condition reports to the flight information centre in London who then provides the information to pilots wanting to fly into or out of Owen Sound.
